Example Assignment

My research country for the semester was Mexico.  They are overall considered to be a rich country, but where the concern for Mexico lies is that once the money is divided per capita they are in reality a country living in poverty, meaning that there are a few very rich people and many more poor people.

The World Bank recently approved a 1.5 billion dollar loan.  This money is to be distributed as cash to the poorest families in Mexico.  In exchange these families are required to send their children to school to get an education, take them to the doctor, and feed them a nutritious meal.  This plan focuses on the youth of Mexico's children hoping to give them a good education so that when these children become Mexico's future, the future will be bright for the both of them.

There was also aid given to Mexico to help when the H1N1 Flu epidmic hit.  The immediate support of the bank was 205 million dollars.  This was to help people with immediate medical needs as well as preparing and preventing future outbreaks.  Helping to maintain a healthy society will help to keep a strong country.

With the help of the World Bank between 2002-2008 over 60 million Latin Americans rose out of poverty!
