What the World Bank Does

The World Bank is unique because they work from a bottom up approach.  What this means is that their primary goal is not to send billions of dollars to a poor country and leave it up to them to solve their problems and to stabilize themselves.  What they do is work from the bottom up, they give countries the necessary tools to be successful and stable on their own in the long run.  One tool the World Bank uses is education.  This is a powerful tool because a country could have the most money in the world, but if they do not have an educated public they will not be able to survive in the long run.  The World Bank is currently working to educate young girls in Bangladesh giving them the knowledge to persue a bright future.  Through low-interest loans, interest-free credits and grants the World Bank makes it possible to help developing and poor countries grow by helping with the basics such as education, health, infrastructure, public administration, financial, agricultural and environmental development.  With these tools countries will be able to live within their means and build a strong and prosperous country.
